Industri Kapital announces the appointment of two new partners and the strengthening of its European team
Industri Kapital, a leading mid-market private equity firm focused on investing in the Nordic region and in Continental Europe, announced today the appointment of Dan Soudry and Helena Stjernholm as Partners in France and Sweden.
At the same time, the firm is promoting five team members to Deputy Director: Remi Buttiaux, Remko Hilhorst, Kristian Kemppinen, Anders Petersson and Klaus de Vibe. A further three team members have been promoted to Associate Director level: Bart Borms, Benoit Leblanc and Matts Rosenberg.
During 2007, the firm has also hired five additional investment professionals to work across Europe.
The appointments come following a busy 2007 during which IK announced four investments and three add-ons and record breaking exit activity of eight realisations, returning a total of €1.8 billion of cash proceeds. IK2007 Fund also successfully closed at €1.675 billion.

Dan Soudry (French) joined in 2003 from ABN AMRO Capital in Paris where he was part of the LBO team. He previously worked for KPMG Corporate Finance and Paribas in Paris. He graduated from l’Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales and has a postgraduate degree from La Sorbonne.
Helena Stjernholm (Swedish) joined in 1998 from Bain & Company. She has an MSc. from Stockholm School of Economics.
Remi Buttiaux (French) joined in 2001 from Morgan Stanley in London. He previously worked for Paribas Affaires Industrielles (PAI) in Paris. He graduated from l’Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC).
Remko Hilhorst (Dutch) joined in 2001 from HAL Investments in Rotterdam. He has an MA from the University of Amsterdam.
Kristian Kemppinen (Finnish) joined in 2001, from Mandatum & Co in Helsinki. He holds an MSc from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. Anders Petersson (Swedish) joined the German team in 2002 from JPMorgan in London. He holds an MSc. in Economics and Business Administration from Uppsala University.
Klaus de Vibe (Norwegian) joined in 2002 from Morgan Stanley in London. He holds an MSc. from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
Bart Borms (Belgian) joined in 2005 from Merrill Lynch Investment Banking in London. He previously worked for Citigroup Investment Banking. He holds a degree in Management Engineering from the University of Antwerp.
Benoit Leblanc (French) joined in 2005 from Morgan Stanley Investment Banking Division in Paris. Mr. Leblanc has majored in Economics and Finance at Institut d’Etudes Politiques and holds an MSc. from La Sorbonne including one year at UC Berkeley.
Matts Rosenberg (Finnish) joined in 2005 from Aventum Partners in Helsinki. He holds a Ph.D. from the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki.
