Iiro Kulvik awarded the €25,000 IK Finnish-American Scholarship
The IK Finnish-American Scholarship has been granted to Iiro Kulvik, a 24-year-old Bachelor of Science from Espoo, Finland. Iiro will use the scholarship to become one of the first Finnish Master’s students at the prestigious Stanford University.
The IK Finnish-American Scholarship provides a chance for a talented Finnish student to study at a top university in the United States. Iiro chose the Stanford University in California, one of the world’s most respected universities. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and Engineering from Aalto University and will now continue his studies in Management Science & Engineering at Stanford.
Iiro Kulvik will become one of the first Finnish Master’s students to take up a place at Stanford. The number of Finns studying for a degree abroad is still relatively small compared to many other European countries, and therefore Kulvik welcomes the opportunity provided by IK to study in a top American university. “Providing young people with the opportunity to study abroad at top universities is definitely a worthwhile investment in the future of business and academia in Finland”, Iiro Kulvik says.
IK, with its own pool of talented professionals representing a wide diversity of nationalities and backgrounds and active in the competitive and dynamic international business arena, is a firm believer in the value added by international exchange and experience.
Iiro Kulvik is the ninth recipient of the IK Finnish-American Scholarship, administered by the League of Finnish-American Societies Foundation. The scholarship was instituted in 2000, and has since provided exceptional young Finnish business or engineering students with the opportunity to broaden their academic and international perspective with studies at top universities in the United States.
