Industri Kapital Becomes IK Investment Partners
Mid-market European private equity firm Industri Kapital announces the change of its name to IK Investment Partners (“IK”). The name change marks the evolution of the firm’s investment and geographic focus.
Since it was founded in 1989, the firm has broadened its offering from its original focus on manufacturing in the Scandinavian markets to a broader range of traditional sectors including services, healthcare, food and specialised processing as well as retail on a pan-European scale.
IK has a confirmed European focus with established teams in Benelux, France and Germany which today represent half of the firm’s investment activity in addition to its strong Nordic position.
IK is independently owned by its 13 partners and has a team of over 30 investment professionals spread across a European network of offices (Hamburg, London, Oslo, Paris and Stockholm).
The firm has raised more than EUR 5 billion in 6 funds since inception, invested in 67 companies, the latest fund being Industri Kapital 2007 which raised EUR 1.675 billion in October 2007.
IK has a proven track record of successful investments through active ownership and hands-on support to management teams seeking to internationalise their activities or sharpen their operations.
IK will continue its strategy of investing in mid-market companies in the Nordic region and Continental Europe with the potential for growth and profit improvement using the firm’s longstanding industrial knowledge, experience and network, to accelerate growth and create value both organically and through acquisitions.
Björn Savén, Executive Chairman, commented: “Our new name, IK Investment Partners, reflects our broad European reach and sector focus and we look forward to continuing our successful strategy of working closely with our portfolio companies to grow their businesses and transform national businesses into international leaders.”
