Healthcare
Background
Healthcare is currently IK Partners’ second largest sector focus with an established history of successful investments. Backed by more than 30 years of experience and continued success in this area, our investment strategy focuses on defined subsectors, based on a combination of strong growth and fundamentals, as well as market resilience. Within these subsectors, we look for companies that are: driven by demographic factors; limited by public healthcare budget constraints; and operating in markets seeing increased demand for consumerisation and quality of care.
Why We Invest
Companies driven by demographic factors, such as an ageing population, present us with the opportunity to expand and drive consolidation through the facilitation of strategic add-ons throughout the healthcare value chain. In doing so, we are able to work alongside organisations to achieve greater synergy and efficiency. Where companies experience a decrease in supply due to budget constraints, we see significant potential to optimise processes and reduce costs using technology and automation. Companies are seeing an increased demand for consumerisation and quality of care, value personalisation and value added services. Because of this, there is potential for technology to play a significant role in this area by modernising and streamlining the delivery of business processes as well as care services. In addition, technology can drive substantial productivity and operational improvements.
How We Add Value
We work alongside management teams within this sector to add value in the areas of:
- Scalability
- Technological Innovation
- Procurement
- Operational Consolidation
