IK Investment Partners (IK), a leading mid-market private equity firm focused on investing in Northern Continental Europe, is pleased to announce that it has closed its seventh fund, the IK VII Fund, with total commitments of close to EUR 1.4 billion.

The IK VII Fund received strong renewed support from existing investors and attracted a large number of new investors. The fund’s investors include Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund, Dansk Vækstkapital, HarbourVest, Hermes, MetLife Investments Limited, Minnesota State Board of Investment, SL Capital Partners and Varma. IK’s investor base is made up of European, North American and Asian investors.

With a strong operational focus and approach of adding value to portfolio companies, the Fund will make majority investments in high-quality, market-leading, medium-sized companies in growing and mature industries in Northern Continental Europe. The IK VII Fund will target companies where, in partnership with management, specific growth opportunities have been identified and will use its longstanding industrial knowledge, experience and network, to accelerate growth and create value both organically and through acquisitions. IK is focused on investments in the Nordics, DACH and France Benelux.

IK has made three investments from the IK VII Fund during the last four months.

Veritas Petroleum Services: a global leader in testing and inspection services for the maritime and power sectors.

Ampelmann: a Dutch-based leading supplier of Motion Compensated Gangway (MCG) systems to the offshore energy sector.

Hansen Protection: a leading provider of specialist survival suits for extreme weather conditions and provider of rental transport suits to energy companies in the Norwegian Continental Shelf region.

Campbell Lutyens acted as global placement agent and Macfarlanes LLP was legal counsel to the IK VII Fund.
